Understanding Domestic and Family Violence across Indian and other CALD Communities

This half-day workshop facilitated by Ms Jatinder Kaur will build the capacity of service providers to respond to Indian, migrant and refugee families who experience domestic and family violence (DFV).

This workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Cultural and religious factors related to DFV
  • Understanding gender roles and traditions
  • Culturally sensitive practice
  • The Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF) and safety planning

Who should attend?

Professionals working with families and children within the community, health, and welfare sectors as well as youth leaders, police, legal professionals, teachers and early childhood workers.
